Week beginning 2nd March 2015-We have been learning about superhero's this week. We received a letter from Batman setting us the challenge of designing him a new car. We accepted his challenge and started to design our super cars. We recorded what we thought we would need to design the car and then drew a picture of our car. We then made our car and tried to follow our designs as carefully as possible. Afterwards we evaluated our finished designs and tested our superhero cars out. Hopefully Batman will be very impressed with our cars!
Happy New Year 1OB!
This half term our topic is 'Kings and Queens'. A few changes have already appeared in our classroom. We have a new design on our classroom door and a castle role play area. We have enjoyed pretending to be kings, queens and castle servants!
Our learning this week has focused on the queen and the royal family. We have been taught how to sketch portraits and have made our own portraits of the queen. They are excellent!
Week beginning 13th October 2014:
You are this week's winners of the attendance bell.
Mrs O'Neill and Mrs Broom are very proud of you!
We had a fantastic day on Friday as we dressed up as our favourite Roald Dahl characters. We looked at the story 'The Enormous crocodile' and made a giant crocodile for our year group display. We thought of lots of adjectives to describe the crocodile and throughout the day made lots of crocodiles. Mrs O'Neill dressed up as the Roly Poly Bird. We told her to watch out for the children who were dressed up as crocodiles if she didn't want the crocodile to eat her tail feathers again!
This term we have looked at Percy the park keeper and what it is like to be a park keeper. Unfortunately there was a terrible storm and Percy's house was destroyed. We have decided to become a builders company and try and design Percy a new house. We walked to the park last Thursday to try and think about where could be a good place to build his house.
