The Great Fire of London
We have been learning about the Great fire of London (1666) in our topic work this past few weeks, we have researched the events of the fire, looked at sources of information like the London Gazette, the newspaper that published a report on the event, and Samuel Pepys' diary, an eyewitness account to find out what really happened. We have written diary extracts and newspaper report on the Fire imagining if we were really there, we have learnt lots so far!
Part of our topic work has been to construct a London house, seen below:

Hello. Welcome to 2TV!
We have have had a great start to the school year. We had a mini topic of 'Ourselves' to kick start the year and produced some superb art work and science learning related to the theme.
There was great excitement in the third week when a crate, labelled 'Dangerous Animal', arrived in school and our job was to decide what might be in it and why it was here. The 'On Safari' topic has inspired children to write and learn all about Africa and it's animals. The class have conducted their own research about animals and have produced the most amazing homework! We are all very excited about our up-coming trip to the zoo where we can learn all about animal habitats. Here are some examples of our work so far!
