On Thursday 28th January the Nursery visited Broomhill Library.
We held an adults hand when walking to Broomhill Library, we crossed four roads, Norwich Road was very busy and we waited for the red light to stop the traffic before crossing.
During our visit to the library we listened to a story, completed a treasure hunt for objects around the library, designed a book cover and coloured in a bookmark.
We had snack at the library and then we used our library cards to book out a book.
After having lot of fun at the library we walked back to Nursery.
Wednesday 27th January
The children used the sense of touch to explore the ice and could describe how the ice felt.
The ice was freezing cold, slippery and wet.
The children discovered a problem - some animals were trapped within the ice.
The children thought of ways to free the trapped animals. Some children discovered, hitting the ice on the floor made the ice "smash" to free the animals.
On Monday 25th January the children showed an interest in the musical instruments and became an orchestra, and an adult became the conductor.
On Thursday 21st January, the children became curious when they discovered ice in the garden. They used excellent vocabulary to describe the ice and even used the word icicle! After exploring the children discovered the duck made a rattling noise, they went on to predicate what was making the noise.
There was ice inside the duck.
On Tuesday 19th January we went for a walk to explore the world around us.
We saw the church. Some of the children talked about Pre-school.
We noticed some houses looked different. Some houses had numbers on the door. Some of the children recognised the numbers including 96!.
We saw the Post Office, a post box, a telephone box and the Co-Op. Some children talk about going into the Co-Op to buy sweets.
We noticed some signs and the Junior School.
We saw another shop along Bramford Lane and the bridge. Some of the children talked about the trains going over the bridge and the car go under the bridge.
It was bin day so we had to be carefully not to bump into the bins. When we looked in between some houses, we could see then big children's classrooms. We also saw a cat sitting on a wall.
On Wednesday 13th January, we used the parachute during our PE lesson. We use our arms to make waves and song a new song.
