Welcome to RSR
Welcome to RSR's Website Page
RSR have had a brilliant start to the term. We have learnt the school routine and the school promises and have all now settled in well. In the first two weeks of school we learnt about ourselves. We painted our faces looking carefully at our skin, hair and eye colour. We painted ourselves wearing our school uniform and then wrote our names so that we know which piece of work belongs to whom.
We have looked closely at the people in our families and drawn them in great detail. We then thought about what we want to be when we grow up. We chose some brilliant professions such as: Police Officers, Fire-fighters, cleaners, princesses, mechanics and many more.
We have also been learning a lot about the Oxford Reading Tree characters including that Biff and Chip are twins and that Biff's real name is Barbara. We are making super progress with learning our words and our sounds. Please remember to keep practising your words and sounds at home and keep reading with your family.
We had a fantastic time at Colchester Castle. We met Mike the Knight and climbed the tower with him to the roof. We were knights and explored the castle from bottom to top. We saw how the castle defended itself from intruders and enemies. We also pretended to shoot arrows at the castle from the bridge.
Kings and Queens
In the weeks following our castle visit we transformed ourselves into kings and queens. We made crowns using finger paints and jewels. We printed a two or three colour pattern on our crowns.
In P.E. we have been practising circus skills. We have been juggling, dancing with scarves, balancing and plate spinning. We have had tremendous fun. We thought it was the best P.E. lesson we have had so far.
We had a fantastic day dressed as superheroes for Red Nose Day. Everyone in RSR was dressed in their favourite superheroes outfit. A big thank you to all the families who made this possible and a massive thank you for your donations.
