Daily Messages from your teachers

Friday 27th March

I hope you enjoyed creating your acrostic poems yesterday. Today's challenge from Terry the Tortoise is a 'Friday Maths Challenge'. Mrs Phillips has recorded an explanation for Year 1 & Year 2 children today and if you watch me I have set a task for Reception (and Nursery) children.

From Monday teachers will start to put 3 daily tasks on their year group page - we will send you a text message to remind you to have a look.

If you have not picked up your home learning pack - please use your 'daily exercise slot' to walk to school and collect it. They are in a box at the gates on Wesley Way, they are in alphabetical order. There is a letter with your child's name on it at the front of the pack - you will need this letter to access some of the maths tasks.

Have a lovely weekend everyone and please STAY HOME,  PROTECT THE NHS, SAVE LIVES.

Thursday 26th March

Today's video message is a bit longer as it demonstrates Percy's challenge!

So today's challenge from Percy the Peacock is to 'write an acrostic poem'. Here are some steps to help you.

1. Get a pot or carrier bag.

2. Go on a search around your house and/or garden to find things that begin with the letter's in Percy's name.

For example: Petal, Earring, Reading book, Crayon, Yellow peg

3. Write an acrostic poem with the things you've found

                                                                   Pencil

                                                                      Earring

                                                                     Reading Book

                                                                      Crayon

                                                                      Yellow peg

4. Challenge - add an adjective

                                                                   Pretty Pencil

                                                                      Extravagant Earring

                                                                     Regular Reading Book

                                                                      Careful Crayon

                                                                      Yellow peg

5. Super Challenge - write an acrostic poem for any 3 of the learning buddies - Connie, Oscar, Mandy, Terry, Geoffrey, Dixie.

Remember to be like Dixie the Dolphin and use kind words with everyone who is at home with you.
