There are a lot of animals in this story, I wonder if you could list all of them. Can you describe what they look like?

Good morning everyone and a happy Friday!!

We have been looking at different changes all week and for today's topic lesson I thought it might be fun to get in the kitchen and get baking.

I want you to bake a cake or some cupcakes and look at how the mixture changes. Does it get wetter? Does it become a solid again when it cooks? Is it a reversible or irreversible change?

Here is a simple vanilla cupcake recipe if you need one:

Don't forget to take a picture of your cakes and upload them to Tapestry - I can't wait to see all of the lovely things you have baked.

Good morning everyone!

This week we have been thinking about change. We have looked at changes in animals and also in ourselves.

Today, we are going to be scientists! We will be looking at changes in materials and we are going to do a fun experiment.

You will need a couple of things for this experiment:

  • An ice cube or a piece of chocolate
  • A small plate/ saucer
  • A sunny window
  • A camera/ pencil and paper for drawing

Today I would like you to put your piece of chocolate/ ice cube onto the plate and place it on the windowsill of the sunny window and leave it there. Keep checking back every so often and either take a photo or draw any changes you see. What is happening to the ice/chocolate? How has it changed? Can it go back to the way it was before?

I hope you have a lot of fun being a scientist today! Don't forget to upload any pictures onto Tapestry - I'd love to see your experiments!!

Have a great day! :)

Today's task is to look at a baby picture of yourself and then look in the mirror - how have you changed since you were a baby?

Can you draw a picture of yourself now and list all the ways you have changed since you were a baby? I bet you'll find lots of changes as you have grown!

Good morning everyone!

I hope you had fun with your chicken life cycles yesterday.

Today we are going to be thinking about another animal's life cycle because the creature completely changes its body from when it is a baby to when it is an adult.

Today we are looking at Frogs.

Watch this episode of Ben and Holly to learn all about tadpoles:

Then watch this video showing you how the frogs change from when they are a tadpole.

What do you notice? What changes can you see?

Can you draw the life cycle of a frog and write, using your best handwriting just like Percy Peacock, about how the frog changes.
